The 34-year-old Quantico star apologized to get featured in a magazine cover wearing a Tee that hurt the sentiments of refugees. The t-shirt had a loud message to pass on. It features words- REFUGEE, IMMIGRANT and OUTSIDER crossed out with red and TRAVELER highlighted. Condé Nast Traveller tweeted the poster on October 7. Since then, people all over world are coming out with their views. Some of the people took it to the mini blogging website Twitter to show the anger. Refugees and even other people outraged by viewing famous actress Priyanka Chopra supporting such a thought.

So much of criticism this Tee has grabbed from all over the world. Refugees are deeply hurt as it is not their choice to move. By this the magazine and Priyanka Chopra wanted to convey some thing else. In a recent statement Priyanka talked about the same matter clearly and loudly.

Here’s what Priyanka Chopra said-

Priyanka Chopra told NDTV, “They (Condé Nast) especially got this (t-shirt) made and implored me to wear it. They said they were addressing xenophobia which is a big issue that is happening. So their idea was that. And I bought into it, I guess. And I am really, really apologetic about the fact that sentiments were hurt … The point the magazine wanted to make was actually something good.”

However the publishers said that the Tee has a good message to shout out. No one should be labeled by any title such as Refugee, Immigrant or outsider. Everyone outside his or her own country should be called traveler.

Xenophobia is increasing day after day and acquiring its root across several nations. The magazine and PC had a motive to showcase it in the same form. This is what the publishers and Priyanka Chopra said regarding  the matter. She apologized for hurting the sentiments of refugees.
